J.D. Power and Associates Reports:

   The study was compiled from feedback from 51,000 motorists who were asked about the defects, quality of workmanship, and other factors such as drivability, of their 2004 model year cars and trucks within the first 90 days of ownership.

   Lexus set a new IQS record with its Lexus SC 430, which is the best-performing model in the IQS history, scoring just 44 PP100. 

Other nameplates reporting significant initial quality improvement in 2004 include: Honda (23%), HUMMER (23%), Land Rover (22%), Jaguar (20%) and Mercedes-Benz (20%).

 Quotes.The 4GR-FSE (204 hp, IS250) has not been rated by the EPA for fuel economy but like the 3GR-FSE 3.0L V6 found in the new GS300, fuel economy is expected to be much greater in the city and highway compared to the retiring 2JZ-GE 3.0L VVT-i inline 6 thanks to the new Dual VVT-i valve train and D-4 Direct Injection technology.
